Firstly, the reason we use raised garden beds to create an environment that is favorable to organisms that will improve the soil. The more organic matter for the organism in the soil to break down the better. Moving forward we don’t want our soil to behave in ways that is unpredictable. We want our system to have as many worms as possible. High worm activity is a favorable indicator that our raised beds are maintaining the necessary essential nutrients.
